At the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Discover event in Las Vegas last week, several innovations were announced that will transform how HPE business partners manage their technology and data, including delivering everything as-a-service, server storage innovations, and the launch of HPE Primera. Insight had the opportunity to have constructive dialogue with sales leaders and plan new initiatives to help our customers adopt and grow with HPE technology from SMB to Enterprise.
HPE Discover 2019 made its biggest announcement with the introduction of HPE Primera. HPE has branded this new server platform as the “world’s most intelligence storage for your mission-critical apps.” The storage platform is workload-optimize for all applications to meet every data needs. Using machine-aided intelligence, HPE Primera will improve how businesses control storage reliability and organize complex workloads. Ultimately, HPE Primera will help IT teams manage storage, realize issues before they happen with analytics, and streamline the performance of mission-critical applications.
According to Phil Davis, president of HPE Hybrid IT, Primera is next generation storage with 3Par mission critical reliability and performance characteristics, the simplicity of Nimble and the intelligence of InfosSight all in one. According to HPE, Primera can be installed in twenty minutes and upgraded in five minutes with a single click. Primera also offers 100% guaranteed uptime and an on-demand model with Greenlake.
In addition, striving to lead the path for the IT industry, HPE unveiled that in 2022, they will be a consumption-driven company that will deliver everything as-a-service, from the edge, reaching to the cloud, and even to the datacenter. This promising service will allow businesses to leverage on HPE’s entire Service portfolio through a selection of subscription-based or pay-per-use offerings that will allow them to focus on their business outcomes and application data, rather than wasting resources on managing their infrastructure. For on-premises IT as a Service, HPE GreenLake provides flexibility in fully managing, automating, and securing these solutions.
As businesses develop more data and insights when they transition to mobile and become more intelligent at the edge, there is more pressure added to their storage subsystems. HPE and Toshiba have been working together to ease this problem by improving the performance of business storage within specific environments through server storage innovations. Jeremy Werner, SVP and General Manager SSD Business Unit of Toshiba, revealed that they will be offering to the market a number of solid-state storage solutions, including SaaS and data center PCIe. Companies experiencing digital transformation can now further upgrade the performance of their equipment and seamlessly migrate between software.
