A leading behavioral health organization that partners with hospitals and health systems to improve access to services and providers had a critical business need: supporting the technology its top-tier providers wanted to use. This was crucial for talent retention and its broader growth strategy.
However, as a traditional Microsoft shop, the IT team was highly specialized in the Windows ecosystem. They recognized that properly integrating Mac devices required a different, specialized skill set to navigate the platform’s unique complexities. Their initial solo attempts proved how difficult it would be. The System Administrator was tasked with the project and faced significant technical roadblocks integrating Mac devices with their existing security stack. He faced persistent errors with single sign-on, firewall conflicts with Microsoft Defender, and major concerns about ensuring FileVault encryption was properly enabled for HIPAA compliance. After spending countless hours reading documentation to solve problems, the organization knew it needed a partner with specialized expertise.
The healthcare provider engaged Insight to rapidly configure Intune and Apple Business Manager for Mac. The engagement was far more than a simple setup—it was an immersive educational process. Insight’s engineer worked one-on-one with the System Administrator, transforming his approach to the new technology.
Issues that had taken the internal team days of research were solved instantly. The engagement swiftly established a stable, secure framework by correctly configuring everything from third-party SSO to FileVault encryption and Defender policies. Crucially, the process was collaborative, with the Insight team explaining the "why" behind the configurations to ensure the organization could manage the environment independently going forward.
Completed on time and on schedule, the engagement successfully transformed the organization’s ability to manage Apple devices. The primary goal of enabling zero-touch deployment—allowing secure, business-ready Macs to be shipped directly from Insight’s warehouse to end-users—was achieved.
The engagement resulted in a number of key benefits:
Ultimately, the partnership with Insight has provided more than just a technical solution; it has delivered a scalable foundation to support their people, their security posture, and their future growth.
