Chicago Tribune Rates Insight as a Top Chicago Workplace for 2nd Straight Year
11th annual survey ranks best employers based on employee views of work-life balance, confidence in leadership and overall workplace culture
TEMPE, Ariz., December 9, 2020 – Insight Enterprises (NASDAQ:NSIT), the global provider of Insight Intelligent Technology Solutions™ for organizations of all sizes, for a second year in a row has made the Chicago Tribune’s annual Top Workplaces in Chicago list, moving up seven spots from last year’s ranking to No. 46 in the midsize business category this year.
The list of Chicagoland’s top 140 employers is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization, including work-life balance, confidence in company leadership, alignment, execution and connection.
“Our Chicago-area teammates have showed tremendous heart to ensure we were there for our clients throughout a year of great uncertainty. Many of these teammates have remained working on-site at our labs and distribution centers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, completely dedicated to equipping the many front-line businesses, healthcare workers, schools and public agencies with the technology they need to keep our communities running as normally as possible,” said Joyce Mullen, president, Insight North America.
Mullen added: “It’s been our top priority at Insight to ensure these teammates are taken care of, too, as we’ve implemented best-in-class preventative measures – including the use of intelligent technology – to help protect and enable them to continue to do what they do best. We’re appreciative of the Chicago Tribune recognition, validating the strides we take to create the best workplace experience possible for our teammates.”
Overall, Insight employs nearly 850 teammates in the Chicago metropolitan area, including hiring more than 300 new employees this year. This includes Digital Innovation offices and laboratories in Chicago and Addison; Cloud + Data Center Transformation special-projects lab for client data center and infrastructure modernization projects; and Supply Chain Optimization’s integration lab and distribution centers in Hanover Park to preconfigure and deploy IT assets.
A commitment to transparency and communicating key business changes has been paramount at Insight this year, including providing an internal communications hub for teammates, a steady stream of video messages from the Insight executive team, and resources to help remote workers remain productive and feel connected. Additional differential pay and spot bonuses were issued to teammates deemed essential to on-site operations.
Insight celebrates its teammates and their contributions as often as possible, including a paid “thank you” day off, the company’s first Global Harmony Day celebrating the diversity and unique skill sets of our 11,000+ teammates worldwide, and a virtual celebration dinner with 500+ teammates to commemorate the completion of the company’s largest acquisition and system integration to date.
“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”
In the last 12 months, Insight has been ranked No. 24 on the Fortune 2019 Best Workplaces in Chicago list, No. 70 on Fortune’s 100 Best Workplaces for Diversity, the No. 27 technology company on the Forbes World’s Best Employers 2020 list, and No. 62 on the Forbes Best U.S. Employers for Veterans 2020.
“We’re intent on creating a fun work environment where people come first and they’re excited to serve one another, our clients and our communities. This begins with sharing a clear vision of what we stand for through well-defined leadership commitments and our values of hunger, heart and harmony. It extends to daily recognition of individual accomplishments and improving our culture through regular feedback from our teammates,” said Jen Vasin, senior vice president, North America human resources.
