AI has arrived in education

AI adoption in schools has caught fire and is making an impact. In a Microsoft survey, 58% of leaders said their institutions have already implemented AI, while 92% of students said they’ve used AI for at least one or two school-related reasons. Students are using AI to summarize information, get answers more quickly, and to help them brainstorm or get started with assignments. Educators use AI to brainstorm new classroom ideas, create or update lesson plans, and simplify complex topics for students.1

A history of AI in esports

Esports is no stranger to AI, either — in fact, it could be viewed as a pioneer for bringing AI into schools. Early computer games, such as Tic-Tac-Toe and Chess, used simple AI algorithms to simulate human opponents, with each move challenging the player to think strategically in difficult scenarios. From the 1980s to now, AI has also been used in games to simulate enemy behavior, compete in sporting scenarios, and enhance storytelling in gameplay experiences. When AI is applied to lesson plans or game scenarios, it can be used to challenge students’ thinking and deliver personalized learning.

  • AI-powered gameplay analysis
  • Personalized student development recommendations
  • Intelligent agent orchestration

Value beyond gaming

While the Esports Education Platform has been developed for esports, there is much greater value than meets the eye. Consider its application in schools with limited esports leadership — it could reduce barriers to program adoption, enable greater student participation, and provide personalized support for higher standards of accessibility and inclusion.

For schools, this is an opportunity to introduce esports, connect with students, and help them think bigger about their futures in the evolving world of AI.
