Automation has progressively and surreptitiously taken over small tasks to enhance experiences in our daily lives. And, while turning on lights or having the coffee start without touching it may seem trivial, consider first the experience of waking up to a cold and dark house, shuffling into the kitchen to prepare coffee, leaving the house with a package sitting at the doorstep and forgetting to call your friend on their birthday. Small things add up.
And if a little automation can make our personal lives seem easier, imagine what it can do for our work experiences.
In this issue of the Tech Journal, we’re uncovering the impact of “like magic” through automation. How could automation work within IT? Could automation improve employee satisfaction in fields like manufacturing, retail or restaurants? (Spoiler alert: It absolutely can.)
From the small and simple to the large and complex, automation unlocks improved experiences, accuracy, speed, safety and so much more. Here at Insight, we believe deeply in the power of automation, and our cover story in this issue features an interview with Insight CIO Suma Nallapati, who shares how we’re driving a culture of automation in ways that benefit teammates and clients alike.
Automation is a magical means of augmenting human capability — but it can’t replace the power of people. So, while the war for talent continues, we’ve got some ideas to update recruitment and retention strategies for the new workforce.
And, since the new year is a terrific reflection point, this issue’s CxO Corner is brimming with sage advice from leaders we admire to help you navigate challenges and be ambitious with your goals.
